May 7th: Alan Vince gave a seminar on Archaeological Publication on the Internet at Lund University, Sweden.

May 9th: Alan Vince gave a seminar on Archaeological Publication on the Internet at Moesgard Institute of Anthropology and Archaeology, Department of Prehistoric Archaeology, Moesgard, århus, Denmark.

May 10th: Alan Vince gave a demonstration of Archaeological Publication on the Internet at Vejle Library, Vejle, Denmark.

May 30th: Alan Vince gave a seminar on Archaeological Publication on the Internet at Leiden University as a guest of the Dutch Research School (ARCON) and ArchWEB.

January 16th: The journal was demonstrated by Sandra Garside-Neville and Julian Richards at the Arts and Humanities Data Service launch in London, UK

April 2nd-6th: The journal was represented by Alicia Wise of the Archaeology Data Service at the annual meeting of the Society for American Archaeology in Nashville, USA

April 10th-13th: Alan Vince spoke at the Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology (CAA97) conference at the University of Birmingham, UK. His paper was called 'Archaeological Publishing on the Internet: Internet Archaeology's First Year. A version of this paper has been published in Internet Archaeology

April 22nd: A workshop, run by Sandra Garside-Neville, Paul Miller and Alicia Wise, was held at The King's Manor, York, UK. It introduced archaeologists to the Web and Internet Archaeology in particular.

April 30th: Seamus Ross spoke at the 'Managing Electronic Journals: the CIC model' seminar at the University of Warwick, UK

June 3rd: UK - Dr Christopher Snyder, of Marymount University, Virginia, USA, spoke at the University of York on Sub Roman Britain - a valid construct? See his paper in Issue 3.

27th: UK - Alan Vince and Sandra Garside-Neville spoke at the EVA 97 Conference at University College, London

August 27th-29th: UK - Julian Richards spoke at 'BULISC '97 - New Tricks 2: eLib & Telematics: Projects and Partnerships', Bournemouth University

September 9th-11th: UK - Sandra Garside-Neville, in partnership with Alicia Wise of the Archaeology Data Service, ran a workshop called 'Publication and Preservation on the Internet' on Thursday 11th September at the Institute of Field Archaeologists Annual Archaeology in Britain Conference at the University of Manchester. There was also a demonstration stand

Sept 14th-17th: Seamus Ross spoke about 'Internet Archaeology: success and lessons' at the Digital Resources for the Humanities '97 conference in Oxford.

October 1st-4th: Belgium - Alan Vince set up a poster display and demonstration stand at Medieval Europe 1997 in Brugges, Belgium

November 12th: UK - There was a drop-in session from 10.00 til 12.30 at the Internet Archaeology Office at The King's Manor, University of York.

1998

March 21st-22nd: Julian Richards spoke on 'Electronic Archiving and Publication: disseminating the data in 2000 + or - ?' at the Irish Association of Professional Archaeologists Spring Conference, 'Archaeology 2000 + or - ?', Ballinalsoe, County Galway.

25th-28th: Spain - Sandra Garside-Neville represented the journal at the Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology conference in Barcelona

March 25th-29th: Julian Richards represented the journal at the Society for American Archaeology's Annual Meeting in Seattle

September 23-27th September: Julian Richards represented the journal at the Fourth Annual Meeting of the European Archaeological Association, in Goteborg, Sweden. He spoke on issues of Digital Preservation & Electronic Preservation as well as contributing to the EAA Round Table on 'Archaeology and the Internet'.

November 26th - Judith Winters talked briefly about the journal at the Fifth ALPSP (Association of Learned and professional Society Publishers) 'Publishing and the Internet' Seminar in London, when the journal received a Special Mention in the Charlesworth Group Award for Electronic Journals for issue 5.

December 7th-8th: UK - Judith Winters, Val Kinsler and Alan Vince ran a course on 'Publishing Archaeology on the Web: an introduction' at the University of Oxford's Department of Continuing Eduction.

1999

January 28th-31st: UCLA, Los Angeles - Mike Heyworth and Julian Richards represented the journal and spoke at a workshop on electronic publication in archaeology.

April 14th-18th: - Julian Richards spoke at the Annual Computer Applications in Archaeology Conference, Dublin.

April 19-20th UK - Judith Winters spoke on 'The Electronic Journal: publishing archaeology on the web' as part of the course 'An Introduction to Archaeological Publishing' at the University of Oxford's Department of Continuing Education.

May York - Judith Winters spoke about and demonstrated the journal to the IFA Workshop on 'Writing for Archaeologists' at the King's Manor, University of York.

June 17th: - Edinburgh - Judith Winters spoke about Internet Archaeology at the meeting at Longmore House (Historic Scotland) on 'Publication and Archiving'. Alan Vince also demonstrated the Wickham-Jones and Dalland article in issue 5 to the audience.

September 16th - Bournemouth, EAA, `Publishing Archaeology in the New Millennium'. Judith Winters gave a paper in this session on `Internet Archaeology: where do we go from here?'.

December 13-14th - Judith Winters, Val Kinsler and Alan Vince ran a course on 'Publishing Archaeology on the Web: an introduction' at the University of Oxford's Department of Continuing Education.

2000

February 23rd - `Internet Archaeology: publishing beyond print' by Judith Winters. A talk on the opportunities and enjoyment of archaeology on the web, to the Friends of Gwynedd Archaeological Trust, Neuadd Rhos, University of Bangor, Wales.

April 6th Julian Richards presented a paper on behalf of the journal at the SAA conference in Philadelphia. Internet Archaeology: Where Next? by Julian D. Richards, Michael P Heyworth and Judith Winters.

April 6th: - Judith Winters made a presentation titled 'Internet Archaeology: publication beyond print' in the From Data to Information session at the IFA annual conference in Brighton.

December 11-12th: - Judith Winters and Val Kinsler ran a course on Publishing Archaeology on the Web: an introduction' at the University of Oxford's Department of Continuing Education.

2001

January 12th: - in absentia, Judith Winters presented a paper titled 'E-publishing and the Integrated Archive: virtually publishing everything' at the Society for Historical Archaeology conference at Long Beach, California. Thanks go to Kathryn Denning for presenting the paper on our behalf at the last minute!

June 25th: - Judith Winters presented a paper on "Internet Archaeology - dealing with non-text submissions" at the Change and Continuity in Scientific Communications meeting at the KNAW Trippenhuis, Amsterdam.

September 13-14th: - Archaeological Informatics seminar. University of Glasgow. Judith Winters presented a discussion paper on "Electronic Publishing and Archaeology"

December 10-11th: - Judith Winters and Val Kinsler ran a course on Publishing Archaeology on the Web: creating and maintaining a quality resource' at the University of Oxford's Department of Continuing Eduction.

January 23rd: - "Internet Archaeology: exploring the old with the new". Talk given by Judith Winters at a joint meeting of the British Computing Society (Humberside Branch) and the East Riding Archaeological Society.
