8.6 Vessels

8.6.1 Copper alloy

Fragments of three copper alloy vessels, including two rims, were found at this site. A rim [1651] from phase 4 (J183) had been finished on one side and bent over slightly to form the rim. Another [1652] was formed from a sheet and came from phase 4 (J169). The third fragment was rim of a flat vessel, probably a plate [1534].

8.6.2 Glass vessels

Only a few small pieces could definitely be identified as vessel glass, although some others were so fragmentary that it was impossible to say what was their original form. 2 small delicate fragments decorated around the rim with cream enamel are in the Venetian tradition, possibly imported from the Netherlands in the 17th century.
