Fabric and technology
Several fabrics, including the `black-sand' fabric as on DR1 and DR2-4 amphoras and PRW1.
Typology
Cylindrical amphora, recalling the form of the Dressel 2-4, but with oval or round-sectioned handles and characteristic almond-shaped rim; solid spike.
Date
Later 2nd and 3rd century AD.

Campania, probably from the Bay of Naples.

Wine.
Distribution
Principally Italy, but a few from the Rhône valley, the Rhineland and Britain. This type has only recently been recognized and in the past may have been conflated with earlier Campanian amphoras in the same wares.
