Chaparli (335). Excavated features
The earliest phase of this site contains Antique-period evidence. The large storage jar is not thought to be a grave, especially as it is in close association with a hearth and a smelting area. Charcoal from the smelting area was radiocarbon dated to Cal BC 40 to Cal AD 120 (Beta 232330).
Several pits were found inside the rectangular stone building, but it is thought on the whole that this is a later structure rather than forming part of the Antique-period use of the site.
