Evidence for whole and articulated part animal disposal is scanty, with very few occurrences (Table 316). Associations of unarticulated animal parts are of high incidence in 3500-2500bc at 43% (Table 317) but then fall to a much lower incidence ranging from 7-11% in the remaining four periods, being lowest at 7% in 100bc-AD43. Forty-eight of the 58 occurrences fall within 3500-14/1300bc.
The south appears to show a little more evidence (Table 320) for associated whole animal disposals than the south west (or the south east area, as will be seen). It has occurrences in all periods, but still at very low percentage incidence. There are higher than average incidences of unarticulated part animal associations in 3500-2500bc, and also over 8/700bc-AD43 (at 17% and 11-16% against the average of 8% overall), but again these percentages are based on low numbers.
The south east area (Table 323) also has a dearth of whole and articulated animal associations, the period 8/700-100bc with three whole animal burial site occurrences being the best represented. There appears to be a more steady if uneven incidence through the five periods of part animal associations, with the highest at 23% in 3500-2500bc as in other areas, the lowest at 5% in 14/1300-8/700bc (other areas are below average in this period), and the others in the 10-15% range, the period 8/700bc-AD43 being higher than average.
